The Doumbek is a traditional Middle Eastern hand drum. Similar to Africa's Djembe but slightly different in shape, it is common in Egyptian and Persian music. The MEINL aluminum doumbek made with a hand engraved shell that responds with immense tones, from deep low notes to snapping, ringing highs. It has a tunable and replaceable synthetic head which provides the basis for powerful and rich sound. This handheld drum measures 18" tall with an 8-3/4" head.
